3. Tiered Burn of Oath Pledges for $SERUM (Months 5-7)
Oath Pledges may be burned in exchange for $SERUM, with burn rewards tiered based on historical usage:
Unused Oath Pledges
Receive a higher $SERUM allocation upon burn
Reflect the fact they were never consumed as fusion activators
Used Oath Pledges
Receive a lower $SERUM allocation upon burn
Acknowledge that their function has already been realised
Additional conditions:
Exact burn rates are defined and capped by Serum Corp
Conversion tables are published prior to activation
Burned Oath Pledges are permanently removed from circulation
4. Progression to VIP Oath (Months 5-7)
Oath holders may exchange 12 Oath Pledges for 1 VIP Oath
Exchanged Oath Pledges are burned

As someone who participated in the entire lifespan of Oaths, it feels like this proposal was always meant to be created, and with good reason. As stated above, the Pledge Oath has served numerous purposes in the 4+ years of its existence.
With the benefits clearly defined in the SIP and further iterated in the replies, this has my support.
Great for the people who bought in and got the benefits. Not good for those who bought in to access future benefits. That means for me personally my oath did 0 for me. I can’t be the only one.
This is a great S.I.P. (Serum improvement proposal), encouraging steady growth within the Mutant Cartel community and for new members along with future holders in mind, this is also incorporating $SERUM allocation and creating another Novel premium activation, reward, and experience layer asset.

Thanks but was there a reason it hasn’t been published before we have to vote? Surely people would like to know what they are going to get, to make the correct informed decision.
The exact figures haven’t been published yet because of the volatility of crypto, locking numbers too early risks them becoming outdated or unfair by the time they go live.
This vote is about agreeing on the structure, the sunset, tiered burn, and VIP transition.
If it passes, full conversion details will be published before any burn or claim goes live, so no one is committing assets without seeing exactly what they’ll receive.
As someone who initially purchased Oaths as an investment opportunity, I understand the perspective of those who expected their value to increase directly alongside the NFT. That said, I believe this proposal is ultimately beneficial for the overall health of MC and Novel Labs as a whole.
Personally, I recognize the numerous benefits that Oaths have provided over time, which have already delivered meaningful value beyond simple price appreciation. Additionally, the introduction of $SERUM allocation offers a more flexible and potentially more accurate mechanism for future returns, more in line with how token-based systems are designed to function.
This shift may not align perfectly with everyone’s original expectations, but it represents a more sustainable and forward-looking approach for the ecosystem. Time and time again, Novel Labs has demonstrated a commitment to building for the long term!
