Fused Hounds: Jail Break Service [Vote]

That’s not the intention. It’s a revenue generation model to help mobilise the collection and community funds for those with commercially sound ideas.

With Apefest days away, I don’t believe a community consensus and technical implementation would be possible unfortunately.

Allocating revenue to a cyclical NFT strategy, as suggested, is a solid idea to develop. We will incorporate it into this review window. Appreciate the input.

I love the creativity and ambition behind this SIP — it’s an awesome initiative that gives Fused Hounds new life, builds a use case for $SERUM, and could potentially generate serious momentum for the ecosystem.

That said, I’m a bit concerned about timing. Right now, our community visibility and onboarding efforts feel limited. If we don’t first see a strong uptick in new members joining the Mutant Cartel, I worry that the auction could end up circulating assets mostly among our existing holders — which might stall the goal of expanding our footprint.

For example, we recently saw a great response from the launch of the $SERUM token — a lot of people checked back in to see what was happening and to understand its purpose. That kind of activity shows how powerful a well-timed catalyst can be for reigniting community engagement.

Are there any other upcoming “attractions” or activations planned that could drive a similar wave of returning or new members? If so, then my concern might be moot — in that case, having this SIP approved and ready to roll could actually position us perfectly to ride that next surge of attention.

Also, with the proposed ~$300 floor and the expectation that bids start in $SERUM, we’ll need to make sure the token itself holds enough perceived value to sustain meaningful participation. Otherwise, current holders could feel constrained in how much they can engage — which could unintentionally limit the success of the auctions.

In short: I’m fully behind the idea — I just think a little more front-end community growth and token value reinforcement could make this SIP explode instead of just launch. :rocket:

It was SC who made me buy my first OG Hounds, and it’s clearly something that has brought dynamics to the Cartel.

Based on the reactions — including mine — most people don’t seem opposed to the sale itself. What’s being asked is to work on boosting the attractiveness and liquidity of the collection first. That should actually be a priority SIP.

To help unblock and validate SIP001, we could set a clear performance indicator to hit before triggering any sales. That way, we can move forward and approve the proposal, but with a safety net that reflects the community’s expectations.

I also really like the idea of flash sales. I’m convinced it can work well if we limit the number of pieces per drop and make sure the collection has strong appeal beforehand. Which brings us back to the key point: energizing the collection first.

Here’s how the SIP structure could look:

SIP001: Validate flash sales with limited-time auctions, conditional on reaching a minimum floor price.

SIPxxx: Define concrete activation actions and a budget framework, handled by Novellabs and reimbursed through sales, to boost the Cartel collections.

SIPxxx: Decide what happens to the unsold pieces if they don’t sell during the flash sales.

I feel like the topic of timing has been well covered (and heard) and for me that is less to do with the mechanics and more to do with GTM. What would be helpful is to separate out what makes a Fused Auction successful from a demand perspective (marketing, natural volume, the things you have mentioned etc) and what makes for a reasonable and solid auction process/mechanism.

The SIP itself is very well written, and the mechanics are solid. The timing factor, and amount of Fused put out for auction was my only concern. This covers it. I will fully back this proposal.

Agreed. The SIP focuses on the concept and mechanics. We will flesh out the GTM.

Back from Apefest with renewed focus. Will take into account the comments and revise/reinforce the SIP where needed. Particular focus needed on the GTM & marketing.

The SSC will then host an open call next week (looking like Monday) with the Ranks to further unpack this SIP.

We then take this to vote.

Have amended a final version to move to vote following the feedback rounds and guidance from the SSC and Ranked call.

I see where the SIP started from, to its current submission, as proof of how this model can work.

We intend to present five SIPs from Novel this side of Christmas.

loving the new direction of this sip. the jailbreak lore adds a new layer of excitement to the concept. Shoutout Duke for bringing narrative energy back into the mix :raising_hands:

is there a strategy that makes serum city available in otherside? i think with story telling this could be the biggest driver to be part of that. is there some story that makes fused hounds a collection you need or want to participate?

That’s a great question, and I think you’re absolutely right that the connective tissue between Serum City, the Fused Hounds, and the Otherside makes sense. I don’t know if this is the actual thoughts behind it, but in my view, the Hounds are breaking out from Serum City to the Otherside. Feels like both lore and logistics.

The deeper story that already exists around the Fused Hounds, from Caleb Lockjaw and Blaksoot searching for the cure for Serum Sickness, to the sacrifice of the OG Hounds to acquire the fusion materials, and eventually the great Fusion Event itself… already gives the collection a lore-rich foundation. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already
